Save time and money in the long run by getting good advice on what to buy, how to have it configured (RAM, hard drive, printers, scanners, etc.), purchasing AppleCare, and a host of issues that will come up later. Whether you are a home user or a small business, it helps to do strategic planning before you make that investment in technology.
Now that you have that brand new computer, you want to get it set up and start using it – NOW. If you are an old hand at OS X, go for it. Otherwise you may benefit from professional support from the beginning. Issues to keep in mind: some user names cannot be changed easily, moving files from your old computer (and how to open them on your new computer), setting up email and internet. Software Installation & Upgrades
Make sure your installations are done correctly and that the latest upgrades are installed. It is important to know how to set up easy ways to open programs and avoid launching techniques that result in problems.
OS X Installation & Upgrades
There are several steps that should be taken before upgrading an operating system. Your computer should be “prepared” to avoid serious problems, which can include data loss. And not all Macs can run optimally on the most current operating system. In some cases it makes more sense to stay with the version of OS X you have. In others, a new computer is more productive than upgrading. Call us and we will go over your options with you.
Sometimes your hard drive is hosed. In those cases, call us to get a discount on recovery services from DriverSavers. But in most cases we can recover files that were trashed or from a drive that will no longer start your computer. Our recovery fees are quite reasonable, usually less than $250.
